I sell fine art, land­scape and wildlife pho­tog­ra­phy usu­ally at crafts fairs and online.   Wildlife & nature pho­tog­ra­phy is how I relax and enjoy life.  I live in Athens, TN there­fore I feel at home pho­tograph­ing in the South­ern Appalachians.

How­ever I also do wed­ding and event photography.

Wed­dings and Wed­ding Planning

I do a blend of clas­si­cal wed­ding por­traits and the newer pho­to­jour­nal­ism style to cap­ture your won­der­ful day. This gives you the best of both worlds. You get the clas­sic por­traits plus can­did shots that cap­ture all the emo­tions and details of your wed­ding day. Cap­tur­ing the story of your day is my goal.

Leave the pho­to­graph to me, you already have enough to worry about.

In addi­tion, I will seek oppor­tu­ni­ties to insure that spe­cial moments and peo­ple you wish to remem­ber are captured.

I enjoy work­ing with a wed­ding plan­ner to insure your wed­ding is like you want it or with you as the wed­ding planner.

Por­traits

In por­trait pho­tog­ra­phy there are basi­cally three dif­fer­ent por­trait pos­ing styles to work with: tra­di­tional, casual and glam­orous. Depend­ing on your needs and desires one or more of the styles can be used.

The tra­di­tional style (often called for­mal por­tait) is most often used for por­traits for busi­ness, year­books and peo­ple of power. It is often intended to show dis­tinc­tion. It is the most often used but it does not ful­fill everyone’s pho­to­graphic needs.

Casual por­traits are of course more relaxed while glam­orous pos­ing is designed to focus on show­ing per­son in a more appeal­ing and attrac­tive way.

I encour­age peo­ple to look in mag­a­zines and bring clip­pings of the type of pho­tographs they would like to have taken of them­selves. You are also wel­come to view my pho­tog­ra­phy books to select dif­fer­ent styles that you like. After all this is about you and I strive to offer you last­ing pho­tographs to share with others.

I have a stu­dio in my home or I can do por­traits on loca­tion. My pho­to­graphic style is relaxed in order to cap­ture you as you are.

I will also pho­to­graph you at a site that is spe­cial to you (a favorite park, your home, or some other mean­ing­ful place). For many, this is an impor­tant ingre­di­ent for a great portrait.

Most ses­sions last about an hour. This gives me plenty of time to try a vari­ety of poses and nat­ural back­grounds and you’ll get lots of great pho­tos to choose from. If you have chil­dren, I allow time for them to become com­fort­able with me. I believe in cap­tur­ing chil­dren being chil­dren, not just quick posed smiles.

Senior/school Pho­tographs (High School)

I can do for­mal stu­dio pho­tog­ra­phy or mix it with casual por­traits on loca­tion. The seniors per­sonal inter­ests will be incor­po­rated into the session.

Event Pho­tog­ra­phy

This includes fam­ily reunions, class reunions, busi­ness meet­ings, club meet­ings and social events. This is often cov­ered first in a pho­to­jour­nal­is­tic style cou­pled with posed shots. This is usu­ally sched­uled by the hour.

Other

I pro­vide stock pic­tures used for pub­li­ca­tion in mag­a­zines and newspapers.

I also sell selected works as prints.
